Cope: A psychological dark fantasy art film by Snovonne ‘Sno’ Drake.

It revolves around the psychoanalytical concept of dreams being the communication of our subconscious. In this 20 minute musical short film, the director interprets her psychological issues, struggles and phobias through her most occurring nightmares. During the surreal descent through the subconscious, filled with symbols and metaphors of her everyday life, she is confronted with the biggest challenge of all – herself, or in C. G. Jung’s terms – her “Shadow”. This altercation results in what could only be described as a true catharsis.
The film’s main protagonist is Sno. She plays herself as well as all other ‘versions’ of herself. She’s guided through her nightmares by Mr. Sid Drake, a modern clown, portrayed by electro-metal musician Billy T. Cooper. The film also features a guest appearance by Domenico Martucci, who’s a prominent force in the Italian drag-queen movement.

The whole project was done by Snovonne in its entirety, from the screenplay to filming, editing and all 3D animation. Given that the whole piece of work is set into, and guided by, music – the score / soundtrack is also written by Sno. It consists of varied short chapters of music that take the viewer on a bizarre trip through the artist’s nightmares. It was mixed by Simon Johansson (Soilwork, Wolf) at SolnaSound Production and mastered by the award – winning Thomas ‘Plec’ Johansson at The Panic Room, Sweden. The end credits of the film introduce a brand new, yet unreleased, song by Snovonne – “Dreams on Death Row”, produced by Eddy Cavazza (worked with Paramore, Machine Head) at Silent Ghost Production, Italy.

This ticket is for the entire shorts block, followed by the panel with some of the filmmakers. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Showtimes may be vary.
